Improvements in Santiago for the Community

The mayor of Santiago announces the completion of important public works, including the channeling of the Pluvial Los Panes and the construction of a new square in San Pedro 'El Álamo', benefiting residents after decades of requests.

Improvements in Santiago for the Community

The municipal president of Santiago, David de la Peña Marroquín, highlighted his administration's commitment to the well-being of all the communities in the municipality. In this regard, the delivery of the drainage for the Los Panes rainwater channel in San Pedro "El Álamo" was carried out. This work included the construction of 90 linear meters of channel with 540 square meters of hydraulic concrete, as well as cleaning and desilting work on the bed.

The drainage of the rainwater channel on Los Panes street was a response to the damage suffered during Tropical Storm "Alberto" in June 2024. Aiming to withstand the strong rain currents, hydraulic concrete was used in the new infrastructure. At the same time, the upcoming construction of a plaza and a road connection in the area was announced as part of the planned improvements for the area.

During the project delivery, the mayor emphasized the importance of this intervention, which not only solves a crucial infrastructure problem but also responds to a community demand. In addition to the rainwater drainage, work is underway to create a plaza that will offer recreational spaces such as courts, playgrounds, and exercise equipment. Likewise, the connection of Los Panes street with Melquiades Salazar will be carried out, a long-awaited request from local residents.
